“This was fabulous! I loved it. There was so much interesting information and Julie is a very engaging teacher. The two-days flew by, and I have no idea how we covered so much. I tell everyone I know about this course. It should be required for anyone who works with people. I know I will use this information in my professional and personal life”.

Pain Expertise

Pain serves protective functions from birth to death, and is beneficial throughout the healing process. However, it becomes problematic when it no longer provides useful information, interferes with functioning for longer than is helpful to promote recovery, or causes challenging long-term effects. When acute pain is not addressed in a timely and effective manner, it can become chronic. Chronic pain impacts nearly 8 million Canadians. Persistent pain can lead to fear of movement, physical deconditioning, social isolation, depression, and is the leading cause of disability worldwide.

Here in NL, 1 in 3 adults live with chronic pain.

As a chronic pain researcher with nearly a decade of experience working with a clinical pain population, Julie is passionate about providing innovative, evidence-based pain education.

The Trauma-Informed Pain Management course is back on February 19 & 20, 2024
